slow sound - the mindful practice of experimental music and sound.

"millions of people suffer from various stages of tinnitus; slow sound wishes to avoid contributing to this malady. at the end of a slow sound concert, we want the audience to leave with their minds ringing, not their ears." -excerpt from slow sound [a manifesto by glenn bach]

slow sound is not a label, a band, or an artist. it is a philosophy, an approach and a process. it's creators define it as "the mindful practice of experimental music and sound." their first ever "slow sound festival" was successfully completed over a six-day stretch in long beach, california this past september. a platform was given for those artists who focus on quiet, lowercase, or otherwise low impact sound, and for those “louder” artists willing to experiment with quieter material.

output:NOISE recently experimented with the slow sound concept, and will be releasing several tracks on our upcoming release from a recording session which had been directly inspired by this philosophy.
